Plumbing Forum > Large showerhead trickles

Hi. I just got a new shower. It has a large fixed shower head. Sometimes it just starts trickling quite powerfully. But it doesn't do it all the time. Just now and again. It's a waste of water but also quite noisy. When i first heard it i was in the house on my own and thought someone had turned the shower on!!! Is the shower head faulty or could it have ben fitted wrongly? Best Wishes Oli

Is it just the shower head thats new or the valve also? It sounds like the valve is not shut off properly or is letting water by when closed. Have you checked that the valve is suitable for using with your set up? Some valves are suitable for both high and low pressure supply but some models will have low pressure and high pressure versions. You would need a valve suited to high pressure supply.
