i am having a load of renovation work done and my builder has taken up a floor in a bedroom and found that it was built on top of the old garage flat roof. he showed me and the felt was still on there. the sloping roof was 130mm out from one end to the other. my builder went ahead and put new floor timbers in to make it level and wants to charge us two days labour. my wife says he should have just put more wood on top of the old timbers and is ripping us off. does it sound like he was ok to do what he did?
