Plumbing Forum > B&Q Quattre Bath Tap - changing washer
Can't say I fit much b&q stuff ( there is better out there for half the price) but I would be suprised if they were any different from most...... most knobs are fitted onto a tapvalve with a splined top with a retaining screw into its tip (ie check the very top of the cross head knob ... does it have a removable centre which would reveal a retaining screw? If there is no retaining screw into the tip of the tapvalve then the knob may possibly be simply pushed onto the splines so may just ease off with a gentle pull. Once the knob is off the collar should just unscrew to reveal the tap valve where it fits into the tap body.
HOWEVER, if you are doing this to replace the tap washer then you are barking up the wrong tree.... these taps have 1/4 turn disc valves which will not have replaceable washers, if its dripping then it is likely damaged or worn so you are likely to need replacement valves ( and be careful as there are many different designs with different spline lengths and sizes).
Good luck, let us know how you get on

I Have the above tap from B&Q and I am struggling to change washer for it on the cold tap. There is a small grub screw on the stem just below the cross head but when I take it out nothing happens. Would anyone have any idea what i need to do. I've never heard of taking the tap off completely to change a washer!! thanks
