Plumbing Forum > radiator valve dripping
fit a new rad valve or fit a cap on the end of the rad valve.
what size is the outlet to the rad side 3/4" or 1/2" ? then get a cap end to fit and rubber seal.

this is a 3/4" cap.

you also need a 3/4" rubber that sits in the bottom of the cap.
depending on if your rad valve is 3/4" or 1/2".
as for rad valve i would bung the system so no need to drain water from system it just causes a vacuum in the system and the valve can be changed in a matter of mins.
but if your not sure on heating systems etc best to drain the system if you like your carpets etc.

i tried to take a radiator off to do plastering and decorationg but the valve will not stop leaking when the heating is on in the rest of the house. it is not a trv. i have put it back on to collect the water but is there a temporary way of stopping the water for about a week while i get the work done.
thankyou
