I'm having difficulty with this shower mixer as when the diverter is switched to shower, the water comes out the tap. It happened by me pushing it too hard to one side. What a genius lol.

I need help choosing the right valve (I think thats whats needed, the gold long piece behind the diverter section)

I am guessing you are refering to a Bath Shower Mixer Tap ? ... unless you know the original manufacturer ( do you ?) it may be difficult to source spares and in any case it may not be worth the time taken trying to get the right part. Depending on quality and design a cheap bath shower mixer will only set you back around £40 if you can fit it yourself .
