I have to admit I haven't been on here for ages but I really need some help with finding a light fitting.

want to light a very large photograph and use a MR16 (2 pin) 12v bulb. I'm guessing i need track lighting and would probably need 2 separate lights. I would really like to get theater style/ stage lights but these seem impossible to find.

I'm also confused about transformers, some lights have them, some have them built in and other require them. What is the difference? and is there any problem with wiring these up to the mains lighting on a dimmer switch?
