I have felt roof above the extended room near the kitchen. I don't know why the previous owner has put small stones on the top of the roof. As it happens the stones are blowing everywhere and blocking the gutter and the pipes leading to the gutter. Because of this I have to have the stones removed amd redo the roof. My question is would it be better to have felt or lead? And would it be more expensive to have lead?

anything other than felt will be expensive, certainly so for copper, lead etc. you could look at rubber or GRP. the stones are on the felt to protect it form sunlight. perhaps you should use bigger, heavier stones
