The Building Experience DIY Forum > Tiling on Tiles

Hi All

I want to retile the kitchen floor. ceramic/granite.
The floor has already got ceramic tiles down. Now, they are laid well (too well!) so I think i may have a real challenge getting them up without causing untold amounts of work.
So,...... Firstly, it's ok to re-tile over them right? ..........
However there is a fall off at certain points from the centre. This is upto abou 1/2 cm in places.
Rather than just lay new tiles with the same gradient fall off from the centre is it feasable to level this off with a levelling screed? Will it bond to the old tiles (shiney) already down?
If not...any ideas.

Many thanks

Ronnie

How about de-greasing the floor then give it a coat of pva, most stuff will stick to that.
