The Building Experience DIY Forum > Hole in roof felt due to dislogded tile and birds
Not sure from your description what you re describing here .......Is this on the roof edge (gable) ie.between the tile edge and the fascia ? or is ot the lower edge of the tiling - ie. immediately above the guttering ? OR are you seeing o hole in the roof felt from inside your loft ?

I am seeing the hole from inside the loft and outside I can see a tile has moved are broken, not on the edge but on the roof centre.

First thing you should be concerned about is getting the rooftile sorted - from you description it sounds like you may need to get a roofer as I would never suggest a novice starts climbing on roofs. A roofer will be able to recommend whether / how to repair the secondary layer ( the bit you think the birds have pecked at) which is likey to be felt (if its an older roof) or if its a newer roof this layer may be a thinner breathable membrane. Repairing felt or breathable membrane is not such and easy job - as I undersatand it much of the roof tiles would have to come off to have a large section totally replaced. That said some older houses gat away without a felt layer at all and so long as the tiling is sound a good roofer will be able to advise whether simply getting the tiling properly repired may be an option.
Keep us posted.

Hi I have a hole in the material between my roof tiles and the wood joist due to a dislodged tile and I think a bird that has pecked a hole in it.
What is the best way to fix the material ?
Thanks
