I recently sized new plaster in my bathroom with a weak wallpaper paste solution. However, I now have many areas that look like crazy paving. Rubbing lightly with sandpaper and repainting has not cured the problem. The bathroom has no heating at the moment so the paint cannot be drying too quickly. Any solutions?

You sized with wallpaper paste and followed it with paint?

Cant quite believe it.....

and now your wondering why the paint has cracked?

sorry sheffield, it should have been watered down emulsion that you used, not wallpaper paste. i think you will need some serious elbow grease and sugar soap to fix that now.

Not the answer I wanted but I did think it would come to scaping and sugar soaping the walls. Thanks for info. Elbows and arms now suitably sore. Won't make that mistake again!!!!

Think of it as a lesson well learned - we all make mistakes but at least you had the good sense to know you needed to ask for help.....
