we had new work tops a few years back made from oak. we stained the wood with colron wood dye so that it was a darker brown. we take good care of the work tops to keep them dry and clean. we also oil them regularly using sadolin worktop oil. around the sink where the wood is more exposed to water the work top is faded. originally this could be overcome by oiling it but this doesn't seem to suffice anymore. couple of things i need advice on; can i just apply the wod dye to the affected area or do i need to stain the whole worktop again? is there alternative way to treat the wood so that i won't have to repeat this in a year or so. such as a better dye or a different oil we could use after staining it?
