Perks of the job: Working with natural products such as stone,slate, lime mortars and green oak.
Downsides of the job: Getting cold and wet sometimes.
Biggest challenge facing your company/industry: Getting young enthusiastic people that want to work in the building trade.
Funniest moment: When one of our employees hooked a sledgehammer on a washing line and it came down and hit him in the head.
Scariest moment: Probably after we stopped laughing and saw all the blood coming out of his head after the sledgehammer had hit him. He survived to tell the tale, with no long term damage.
What sets your company apart: We consider it a privilege to work on older properties, some dating back to the 14th century. With over 60 years experience between our 2 directors we feel we have the expertise to advise and support our clients throughout their project. We like to remain involved in every aspect of the build process and will only use subcontractors when it is absolutely essential, such as a need for qualified electricians. Finally, we love what we do and take great pride in every job.
