Building Forum > Parkey wood Flooring

I have recently bought an old house which has original parkey flooring down throughout the downstairs. I don't like it personally and am going to replace it as i'd like tiles in the kitchen and bathrooms and carpet in the rest. However the parkey flooring is in great condition so i wanted to know if it was worth anything before i ripped it up and threw it out. If it is worth anything, where would i go to sell something like that?

You might get a bit of money for the floor but to be honest i'm not sure it is worth the hassle that you will have to go to to take it up. You have to ask yourself, if you don't want it why would anyone else. It's probably easier to put the carpet down on top of the current floor as well that way you get to keep it anyway and when you come to move you might be able to use it as a selling point. Not a huge fan myself though. I find it a bit old fashioned.

Why don't you take a picture and put it on EBAY. Work out how much you'd want to get to make it woth your while taking it up and set that as the minimum price. If people are willing to pay more you can take it up and if not you won't have wasted your time.

You really want to replace this? Sure it doesn't just need a good clean up?

They look amazing when done. Easier to clean and look after than a carpet I would say.

PS I don't think they are old fashioned at all. It all depends on your style.
