I've looked this up on the internet and all i can understand is that the fans are to remove excess odours and humidity. I have a window and airspray for this.
> how old's the house ?
100 years plus, but the new bathroom was refitted only a few years back. Should a fan have gone in then?
> only when you use cheap ones.
Happy to pay money for a nice one although i suspect it will only improve the look and i'm still going to have to put up with the noise.
> then leave it to someone who does.
Apologies if i've come across as ignorant, but i like to understand why things have to be a certain way when i'm spending money on my house.
Thanks for your help.

As a painter i regularly come across mould and lifting paint in bathrooms, and its usually because there's no fan fitted. It really does make a difference.
